Download 2010 Announces the Ultimate 'Rock-Off' with Rage and Aerosmith Joining the Bill

Aerosmith

As if this year's Download Festival wasn't loud and sexy enough already, Aerosmith and Rage Against the Machine have been added to the bill as headliners for the Saturday and Sunday. Some of you may of course be lucky enough to see the Rage boys at their free jamboree in Finsbury Park on June 6th - you'll find out soon enough (remember the tickets are a lottery, literally), but seeing them at Download just has to be a bit special. 'Bombtrack', 'Bulls On Parade', 'Killing In The Name Of' and 'Bullet In Your Head', all blasting out of a scary sound-system? Yeah, you know it makes sense.

Now I'm not a great fan of Aerosmith but this has got to be a real pull for all fans of the sleazy blues, the rock n roll from the Boston bad-boys and THAT voice. Yes folks, I said THAT voice - Steven Tyler has been confirmed as the singer (despite the Hagar rumours flying around). He and Joe Perry performed a live gig last year in New York so all seems good, musically anyway. They've been together for (cough) just short of 40 years now, their first album (self-titled) spawned the 1973 classic 'Dream On' and they've even coveted rap-stars along the way to 2010. Live, they have always put on a show - reckon this could be one of those special shows you will never forget.

Don't forget that the other huge draws for the weekend (June 11th - 13th) include the other headliners, AC/DC, Megadeth, Them Crooked Vultures, Deftones...oh look, just click below for tickets. You won't regret it!
