As if it isn't nippy enough outside, several celebrities are taking to the ice on ITV's popular 'Dancing On Ice' programme including Olympic swimmer Sharron Davies, comic Bobby Davro and 'So Macho'-warbler Sinitta (who managed to slice her dancing partner's trousers and get voted off first this week - so I am told anyway). Reality and competition shows are everywhere at the moment, but fair-play to anyone who can stand up on a pair of ice-skates, let alone whizz around doing a triple-salchow and the samba, wearing nipple-tight clothing as a form of torture.
Alongside the TV spectacular, there will be the follow-up Dancing On Ice Tour 2010 featuring celebrity contestants past and present, and this year's first quartet of masochists, sorry, participants are Ray Quinn (Grease, Brookside, X-Factor runner-up and DoI 2009 winner), Gaynor Faye (Corrie, Fat Friends and winner of DoI in 2006), Mikey Graham (Boyzone) and Chris Fountain (DoI 2008 runner-up, DoI Tour winner, Hollyoaks and Aladdin).
Many more to be announced no doubt, including the judges and the professional skating partners. The format of each show follows the same idea as the TV show - you get to vote for your favourite dancer on the night.
The Dancing On Ice Tour is due to start in Sheffield (Arena) from April 8th to the 11th and continue through Newcastle, London, Manchester, Nottingham, Birmingham and finishing up in Belfast from May 6th to 9th. Full details are available on the links below but prices are £40 plus usual booking fees.
