Bestival 2018

No sooner have we just switched the PC off after telling you about Camp Bestival 2010, Bestival 2010 announces the first batch of acts for its September party-fest. There are some festival regulars in amongst them as well as a few special legends in there.

Grimy 'Holiday'-maker Dizzee Rascal, eccentric technoids Hot Chip, lovable psyche-rock outfit The Flaming Lips, Manchester's nu-ravers Delphic and James Murphy's electro-punks LCD Soundsystem will head up the Isle of Wight jamboree, with older legends from the 70s and 80s displaying their wares, including Gil Scott-Heron (new album out on Monday 8th, soul-jazz fans), Marc Almond and Echo and the Bunnymen. Simian Mobile Disco, Chase and Status and Ewan Pearson wrap up (for now) the distinctly clubby feel to the initial wave of 'big boys and girls'.

Oh, and did we mention that Rolf Harris will be parping down his didgeridoo and asking if 'you can tell what it is yet?' at some point during the weekend? I think we just have. Ellie Goulding and Tinie Tempah are representing the young upstarts - imagine if all three got together on stage at the same time..... you never know.

As a reminder, the weekend runs from September 9th to 12th and, although the Early Birds have sold out, there are still standard Adult Weekend available for £157.50 (NUS £147) with Teenage (13 to 15 years) Weekenders at £79.50 and, for this festival, 12-and-unders get in for FREE (but you MUST book online with the adults!). Prices above include booking fees.
