Not surprisingly, given the sad passing of Kate McGarrigle last week, her daughter Martha Wainwright has opted to cancel the imminent Jazz Cafe gigs due to take place on Monday 1st Feb and Tuesday 2nd Feb. Tickets are refundable from point of purchase. No rescheduled dates have been announced (obviously).

McGarrigle passed away last Monday from clear cell sarcoma and leaves behind a legacy of beautifully crafted folk music created with her sister Anna including the self-titled debut album in 1975 as well as the award-winning pairing of 'Matapedia' (1996) and 'The McGarrigle Hour' (1998). The sisters also contributed backing vocals to Nick Cave's 2001 album 'No More Shall We Part'. Martha and Rufus Wainwright have since returned to their native Canada to be with their family.
