Benny and Björn's epic musical 'Kristina' comes to the Royal Albert Hall, 14th April 2010

Posted: 14 years ago

Wednesday 14th April 2010 is to be an important date for fans of superstars BB. Okay, it does not sound as cool without the A's to bookend them but former ABBA men Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus have announced a one night only UK Premiere of their epic musical 'Kristina.'

The show has already been a major success during the late 90's in their homeland Sweden but until recently there had been no English language version. That was put paid to with a hit run in New York, so now the boys have turned their attention to the UK in hope for continued success. The show follows the story of the titular 'Kristina' and her struggles with her family in Sweden which ultimately makes them emigrate to America in search of a better life (it's always America isn't it, why does no one go to Luxembourg for a better life anymore?). The show is boosted by a mammoth cast with 30 performers, headed by the original Kristina herself, Helen Sjoholm as well as a 50-piece Symphony Orchestra and the choir that performed at the Carnegie Hall shows, all conducted by Paul Gemignani.

With only the one show set and no news of further dates being added it seems like it's a rare opportunity to see a truly remarkable show from the award winning former ABBA-ians. Tickets range from £36.00 to £72.50.
