They Shoot, They Score - Stereophonics Kick Off June 2010 Music Event at Cardiff City

Posted: 21st January 2010

Kelly Jones and co have just announced a stadium gig later this year - nothing unusual there you might say. They are playing in Cardiff - stop yawning at the back! But how about being the first act to tread the hallowed turf of the Bluebirds in front of 30,000 fans? Yeah, now you're talking.....

Stereophonics return to the Welsh capital on June 5th for a one-off concert that marks the first music event to be held at the Cardiff City Stadium, thanks to the local council giving the nod to two gigs within a nine week window. Who's to say that the band might just play the second gig as well? Of course, it's not the first time the lads have played in Cardiff - the International Arena, Millenium Stadium and Cardiff Castle have all had a bit of 'Have A Nice Day', 'Dakota', 'Bartender & The Thief' and 'Maybe Tomorrow' wafting through the environs. Now the City Stadium will play host to songs from their recent album 'Keep Calm and Carry On'. The band releases a new single 'Could You Be The One?' from that album on February 15th.

Tickets go on sale at 9am this Friday (22nd January) costing £35.
