One of three Dolly Parton CD/ DVDs 'Live From London' up for grabs
Posted: 19th January 2010
The performance was filmed and recorded in London's O2 Arena over two nights in July 2008, and includes favourites: 'Jolene', 'Here You Come Again', 'Islands in the Stream', '9 to 5', 'Coat of Many Colors' and the song made famous by Rick Waller - 'I Will Always Love You' ;-)) Unlike many of the "veteran" stars that perform the World tour circuit, dusting-off and wheeling-out the old hit machine, Dolly has never been one to rest on her laurels, recording almost constantly throughout her career, and some of her recent songs, recorded between 1991 and 2008 also get an airing, including: 'The Grass Is Blue', 'Little Sparrow', 'Better Get To Livin', 'Shinola', 'Jesus and Gravity' and 'Backwoods Barbie'.
With a four-and-a-half decade career in music, singer, songwriter, musician and actress Dolly Parton is one of the most successful female artists in the history of country music, charting number one country singles for over four decades.
The track-listing for both the CD and DVD are the same, with the DVD containing a number of extra features, including Dolly and the band during the sound-check, interviews, "Meet and Greet" and "London Loves Dolly", showing how London welcomed the country superstar back in 2008.
The 'Dolly Parton - Live From London' CD/ DVD retails for just under £12 - out next week.
