With the scenes of devastation of Haiti's Port au Prince tugging at our collective heart-strings, some of the West Country's finest folk musicians have clubbed-together for a Haiti fund-raiser.
Taking place this Thursday at the Phoenix Theatre in Exter, the show will feature Show of Hands' Steve Knightley and Phil Beer as well as singer/ songwriter Jackie Oates, singer (and one half of Mawkin : Causley) Jim Causley and Jenna - a singer singer/ songwriter from North Devon.
The gig is the brain-child of Mick Burch from Devon, who had this to say:
[The event] will bring together some of the West Country's finest musicians - between them they are nominated for seven awards at next month's BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. I was very lucky to find all of them available and able to offer their time.
Tickets cost just £16 and are available now from the Phoenix Box Office on 01392 667080.
If you're not able to attend, you can still help the plight faced by the Haitians by donating to the Disasters Emergency Committee: www.dec.org.uk
