Doves and Status Quo to Go Down Down to the Woods for June/ July 2010 Forest Dates

Status Quo

As you are no doubt aware, the Forestry Commission is organizing plenty of woody-type gigs during 2010 - Simply Red, Keane and James Morrison have all been confirmed for numerous dates and locations in the summer. (Click the 'Forest Tour 2010 Dates' button below for the full monty). Two more massive acts have been confirmed for further tree-lined dates mid-way through the year.

First up is Mercury-nominated Doves with an all-too-rare UK date from this intensely-engaging trio. They play at Thetford Forest on Saturday 12th June with tickets costing £28 and going on sale at 9am on Friday 15th June. Jimi and the boys enjoyed their 2009 appearance at Delamere Forest as part of the Forest Tour last year and after the muted disappointment of not winning the Mercury Prize this year (in fact not even being nominated for the excellent 'Kingdom of Rust'), they are keen to tackle live audiences again.

The other big act nestling amongst the pines and oaks is the evergreen (sorry) rock 'n' roll band Status Quo. At least this will settle the nerves of fans who might have feared the worst when Francis Rossi announced a swathe of solo dates for 2010 - there is certainly plenty of life left in the old boys yet. They play Westonbirt Arboretum (Tetbury) on Saturday 17th July with tickets costing £33 and, again, going on sale this Friday, 15th June at 9am.

No doubt these tickets will be 'poplar' (ouch) with both sets of fans so 'wych'ever you choose, be quick to pick these tickets up - you won't want to be 'pine'-ing afterwards.
