Depeche Mode

How about this one? Depeche Mode have announced a fund-raising gig at the Royal Albert Hall next year. The concert forms part of an ongoing live programme for the Teenage Cancer Trust, devoted to supporting young sufferers of the disease and fund research for a cure.

The date is February 17th 2010 at the Royal Albert Hall. The tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday 18th December, starting at £30, rising to £100 + booking fee.

The announcement follows 2 Grammy nominations for their 2009 album 'Sounds of the Universe' and the single 'Wrong' (well, its video anyway - great track though). The Mode have also recently released a new double 'A' single, 'Fragile Tension'/'Hole to Feed'.

They are also playing a few other London gigs before and after. Tonight, it's 'pay-on-the-door' time for the first of two O2 Arena dates this week. The second is tomorrow night (16th) - again this will be a pay-on-the-door by the time you read this, might be worth having a click below though. We can point you in the best direction, naturally. The final date takes place just after the 'Albert' one, at the O2 again on Feb 20th.

The Basildon boys need little introduction so I won't bother, suffice to say that their 2009 Grammy nominated-album reached number 2 in the UK and number 1 in 5 countries. 'Sounds of the Universe' might not have been a 'Violator' or '...Masses' but it did have a brace of damn fine Mode moments. Regardless, they still rock the house in my opinion - quietly going about their business with the minimum of fuss and a raft of fans across the globe. They'll never let you down at all....
