Just when you thought your local London Lovebox couldn't get any bigger, the whole darn festival gets an expansive make-over with an additional day of music and bangin' tunes. 2009's sexy line-up included all sorts of tasty mayhem - markets, gin sanctuary, style studio and a bit of fringe. Oh yeah, and some bands. Doves, Duran Duran, Groove Armada, N*E*R*D* and Florence & The Machine got all grimy for you this year - and two names have been unveiled for next year's bash already.
Lovebox 2010 will kick off in Victoria Park, South Hackney on Friday 16th July and finish on the 18th, giving you 3 days of sexy goodness, rather than two. There are tickets up for grabs for the Friday and the Saturday only at present (the Sunday will be made available soon, but it will be a dance music day). Tickets for Friday OR Saturday will cost £45 and tickets for both days as a package will set you back £80.
Two names have been confirmed so far - Dizzee Rascal and Chase and Status, both expected to appear on the Friday. Rascal has had a monumental year by anyone's standards - three number one singles on the bounce ('Dance Wiv Me', 'Bonkers' and 'Holiday') have helped push his latest album, 'Tongue N Cheek' to 200k in sales. The Lovebox gig will see him come home to his boyhood yard. Chase and Status are a London breakbeat duo who have racked up 30-odd singles releases and one album. They have collaborated with Plan B, Capleton and Prodigy and are due to play at the NYE bash at Brixton's Get Loaded shindig.
Keep 'em peeled for more additions!
