A certain Mr Dangerfield will leave his beloved band behind for a quartet of live appearances in January 2010. He also has a new album and single released around the same time.

The dates are January 18th in Birmingham (Glee Club), 19th in Manchester (Deaf Institute), 20th in Glasgow (O2 ABC - part of the Celtic Connections festival) and the 21st at London's Scala. Tickets are on sale now and cost £12.50 (yes, even for London).

The Guillemots shot to prominence in 2006 with the Mercury-nominated album, 'Through The Windowpane', winning plaudits for songs like "We're Here" and "Trains To Brazil". The follow-up, 'Red' also fared well with a top 20 hit, "Get Over It", in tow. However, despite work starting on the band's third album, Dangerfield has a solo, classical and filmatic itch to scratch, hence the new album and previous choral works written for charity and Christmas.

The new album, 'New Yellow Moon', is released on January 18th with a single, "She Needs Me" issued the week before.
