Goldhawks Announce Debut Single and November 2009 Headline Tour
Young pups - we like to tell you all about them on All Gigs, as well as the big established acts. So here is a bold statement for you - I think this lot will be right up there with the big boys pretty damn soon if their single is anything to go by. Yep, Goldhawks (presumably christened after the musically historical street in Shepherd's Bush) [yep, they are! - Ed] are scarily mature-sounding for such a nubile quintet of lads. They know this of course, because they now have the minerals to announce a tour. Their tour, all to themselves and this is prior to their XFM Winter Wonderland appearance in December (Brixton Academy)....
The tour starts today (Nov 20th) in Stockton (Ku Bar) and takes in a fair old wedge of towns and cities including prime venues like Glasgow's King Tut (21st), Oxford's Jericho Tavern (24th) and the Barfly in Camden on Dec 2nd as well as winding the tour up in Southampton's Joiners on Dec 7th. Even better news - a lot of the gigs are dirt-cheap (under a fiver), leaving you, dear audience, with a few extra quid for a pint of liquefied hops beforehand.
If you want to check them out, go to their My Space page to hear their debut single, "Running Away", an anthemic jangle through the world of Franz, Mansun and the Bunnymen without too much parody. Catch 'em while they smoulder!
