Just Look at HIM and Worship - Finnish Goth-Rockers on March 2010 Tour

Posted: 14 years ago

HIM, the Finnish quintet with a foot in the 80s and the other foot firmly standing in a graveyard, have announced a 2010 tour in support of a brand-new album, due for release in February. The dates start on March 13th in Norwich (UEA) and continue to Manchester (Academy, 14th), Edinburgh (Picture House, 15th), Newcastle (Academy, 16th), Bournemouth (Academy, 18th), Birmingham (Academy, 19th) and finally Nottingham's Rock City on the 20th. Curiously there is no London date - we'll keep 'em peeled for any update on that front [apparently, a London date will be announced around the time of their album in Feb 2010 - Ed]. Meanwhile, these tickets go on sale Friday 27th November at 9AM, from £20 + booking fee.

Him's popularity has snowballed since their first album breakthrough in 1999, "Razorblade Romance", a number 1 album across Europe. Their first hit in Britain was "Love Metal" in 2003, an album that plundered most 80s keyboard clichés as well as some cracking riffs, spawning 4 top 40 singles. Get this though - the band have racked up 17 Top 10 Singles in their home country, including 7 number 1s. That's not quite as prolific as The Beatles or Take That but still pretty impressive. Their next album will be called "Screamworks" and includes jolly anthems such as "Dying Song", "Heart Killer" and In The Arms Of Rain".

We will have those on sale dates very soon!
