Get Tested from Cover to Cover in Paradise - Nov 2009 Charity Bash for Hep-C feat. Boy George and more

Posted: 14 years ago

The Hepatitus C Trust will be creating greater awareness for their GET TESTED! campaign with a collaborative charity event in Kensal Green next week on Thursday November 26th. Cover To Cover is Sean Rowley of unashamedly cheesy club night, Guilty Pleasures, and Christian Laing of equally cheesy Buttoned Down Disco, spinning cover versions from all genres and all eras. Their CTC nights at the Queen Of Hoxton are riotous affairs in the best possible taste and now they bring their magic formula to North West London, the Paradise in Kensal Green to be more precise.

As well as all this, there are some very special guests and big names appearing at this important night. Upstairs, Boy George, David McAlmont, Dot Allison (One Dove) and Sadie Frost (yes, THAT Sadie Frost) will sing their fave cover versions while downstairs, Cover To Cover and extra guests will spin the discs for your delight, all covers of course. Guest DJs include Ed Simons (Chem Bros), Justin Robertson (Revtone, Lionrock), Alan McGee (Creation, Heavenly, Poptones, Death Disco) and Dan Williams (Jezebel).

The GET TESTED! campaign encourages people to get tested for hepatitis C if they think they have been at risk. In 2010 ,GET TESTED! will be raising much-needed money to employ a blood borne virus nurse and a bus to tour the country testing people in remote areas.

Tickets are limited and cost £10 plus fee.
