Edinburgh's 2009 Hogmanay Party Infiltrated by the Enemy - Line-Up Confirmed

Posted: 14 years ago
The Enemy

Potentially the largest street party in Scotland takes place on New Year's Eve / Hogmanay with a sexy little line-up guaranteed to have you cracking open the whisky pretty sharpish. Not that we advocate drinking of course. Enjoy responsibly and all that.....This year's bash in Edinburgh features several inter-related events of varying types so let's start with our headline.

The Enemy round off another busy year by being confirmed for the Princes Street portion of the celebrations. There is a £10 admittance fee (no Under-16s unless with an adult) that will get you into the boundary area of the party and 3 stages. The Waverly Stage will feature The Enemy, Frightened Rabbit and We Were Promised Jetpacks, the West End DJ Stage gathers up the DJ-ing talents of Mylo, Snow Patrol's Gary & Tom and Richard from Belle & Sebastien while the Party Stage will bounce to the beats of The Cuban Brothers and Glitterbanditz. When the midnight hour comes, there will be fireworks - loads of them.

Elsewhere in Edinburgh on the same night, Madness & The Noisettes will skank their way towards 2010 at the West Princes Street Gardens. Tickets are £37.50 and purchasing for this "Concert In The Gardens" event will also entitle you to entry to the above street party!

If you fancy something a little more trad then check out the Ceilidh at the Mound Precinct in the Old Town district. Dancing, drinking, eating and more dancing, this will be a chance to sample proper Scottish grub and a wee dram or five. Not that we advocate drinking. Oh no. Tickets are £30 (www.edinburghshogmanay.org) - again this ticket will also get you into the main street party area as well.
