AFI Plan to Wreak Havok with April 2010 UK Tour Dates

Posted: 14 years ago

It's been 3 years since Californian rockers AFI had a new album to promote on the road but now the lads have put that to rights by releasing "Crash Love" and announcing a supportive tour next year. Dates confirmed are April 5th - Nottingham Rock City, 6th - Brixton Academy, 8th - Glasgow ABC, 9th - Manchester Academy, 11th - Newcastle Academy and 12th - Birmingham Academy. Tickets go on sale on Friday 13th Nov at 9AM, costing £16 for the regional dates, £17.50 for Brixton.

AFI have been around for a fair old while now. 1995 saw their first album "Answer That and Stay Fashionable" released to muted acclaim and it wasn't until their "Sing The Sorrow" album in 2003 that they started to reach a wider audience - the power of decent distribution having paid dividends. "Girl's Not Grey" from the same album also scraped into the Top 30 in the UK as well as the Billboard Top 200. Cue "Decemberunderground" in 2006 and times changed yet again - Number 1 in the States, number 16 over here and oodles of festival dates. AFI are now part of the furniture.

The new album "Crash Love" hasn't quite hit the heights of its predecessor but it's early days yet.
