It's a Merry Xmas from Him and a Merry Xmas from Her - Sandi Toksvig and Ronnie Corbett Pull a 2009 Cracker

Posted: 14 years ago

The South Bank's Royal Festival Hall will host a musical and comedy extravaganza this Christmas, curated and hosted by chirpy dynamo and Footlights performer, Sandi Toksvig. The performances will incorporate several spoof-romps through well-known literary tales including "A Christmas Carol" and other festive songs. Joining Sandi will be legendary comedian who is short in height but long in laughs, Ronnie Corbett.

Billed as a cabaret show, special guests (to be announced) will also join in to liven up the line-ups although the format remains consistent throughout the run. Corbett is famous for being Ronnie Barker's more than equal stooge on the successful TV comedy-variety show "The Two Ronnies", a programme that also featured many wink-wink saucy romps through famous musicals and stories. Whether this show will feature any of the famous Corbett monologues in the out-sized chair remains to be seen. Toksvig is no stranger to comedy and music-hall - she appeared on the improvisation TV show "Whose Line Is It Anyway" for several seasons.

The performances start on Tuesday 15th December and run right up to Christmas Eve.

Tickets cost £35, £25, £17.50 or £15 (+ booking fee) depending on seat location.
