While Amy Winehouse has been busy sunbathing Caribbean-side, parading her new bust and hitting the treadmill (so we hear of late!), another nu-Soul marvel has taken the lead, in Paloma Faith. Last September, Paloma released her debut album, 'Do You Want the Truth or Something Beautiful?', which has since been certified silver.

Though the prey of many detractors for reasons only known to them, Paloma counts among her friends the likes of Basement Jaxx, on whose album 'Scars' she appears on the track 'What's a Girl Got to Do?', as well as featuring in Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip's vid for their single "The Beat That My Heart Skipped".

To support her album, Paloma will embark on a two-legged UK tour, with the first one starting in Portsmouth on 16, via the cities of Liverpool (17 Nov) London (at the Union Chapel alongside pop wiz Mika, on 18 Nov), her hometown (the girl hails from Hackney) at Koko, London on 23 Nov and Birmingham (3 Dec).

Then, Paloma sings the winter away as of 19 March in Manchester, through to 29 March at the Shepherd's Bush Empire in London, via the cities of Leeds (20 March), Newcastle (21 March), Southampton (25 March) and Oxford (28 March), among others.

Tickets for the November/ December dates cost £11.00 (+booking fee) and are still on sale, except for the Koko gig which has now sold out; those for March, will go on sale at 9am (Friday 6th November).
