Californian US Punk-Metal rockers turned stadium-lovelies have announced two huge dates in 2010. Hopefully it will be clear day when Green Day come to the UK - they've opted for June 16th at Manchester's Lancashire County Cricket Ground and London's Wembley Stadium on June 19th. Tickets cost £39.50 for Manchester and £42.50/ £49.50 for Wembley and will go on sale at 9am on Friday 6th November. Please note that both concerts start at Midday on the selected dates so there may well be other bands confirmed to support Green Day for these events.
It's been a varied year for Green Day to say the least. In amongst the usual tour dates, they have released a critically-acclaimed album "21st Century Breakdown", had an art project, inspired by the album, exhibited at Stolen Space Gallery in London and had their album "American Idiot" turned into a one-act musical at the Berkeley Rep in their home-town. Add to that a secret show by side-project Foxboro Hot Tubs at the Garage on November 1st and a range of shoes endorsed by bassist Mike Dirnt (45RPM Studio Project shoes, no less) and you can conclude that they have had a pretty decent 2009. 2010 may well get bigger.
