Twisted Christmas 2009 at the Barbican - 15th December

Two months ahead of the actual yearly celebration, Christmas bookings are piling-up, and the Barbican is no exception as it will be hosting its second 'Twisted Christmas' on December 15th.

The seasonal extravaganza, which promises "a deliciously dark evening of festive entertainment", will gather a starry line-up of singer-songwriters and musicians, including Sheffield working-class hero Richard Hawley (whose charting sixth studio, 'Truelove's Gutter', came out last month), Ed Harcourt, Scottish folk prince Alasdair Roberts ('folk-rock visionary's stunning treasure', dixit Uncut magazine), ethereal songstress Polly Scattergood (hailed as Kate Bush, PJ Harvey and Patti Smith's deserving heiress), Colorado-bred psych-folkstress Josephine Foster (whose new album, 'Graphic As A Star', is soon to be released) and Icelandic ensemble Amiina (who are regular collaborators of fellow nationals, Sigur Ros), among others.

All will perform ("past, present, future") renditions of Christmas songs for the occasion.

Tickets range from £15.00 to £25.00, on sale now.
