The Doctor's Orders

East London nightclub Herbal has just announced that it is now closed 'due to unfortunate circumstances'. Another London venue falls by the wayside, but at least it's not as grim as back in 2008, when we lost a whole raft of London venues - some for financial reasons, others for … well ultimately.. financial reasons (Astoria, anyone?).

Regular hip hop club night The Doctor's orders is now seeking a new home and have announced that Doctor's Orders 35, which was due to take place at herbal in November, has now been cancelled - an event that was to feature DJ Semtex, billed as a 'Def Jam vs Motown Special'. The Doctor's Orders resident Spin Doctor had this to say:

While I am sad to see the end of this era I believe that as one door closes another one opens and look forward to the experiences, relationships and memories sure to come when we relaunch The Doctor's Orders at a new home. We look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones when that happens but in the meantime I just want to thank you all again from the bottom of my heart for your continued support not only of The Doctor's Orders but more importantly of real music, real Hip-Hop and real artists. Without you we are nothing!
