Yusuf Islam for Winter 2009 'Guess I'll Take My Time Tour'

Posted: 14 years ago

Sometimes, a few years away from the rigours of touring can freshen an artist enough to make their comeback all that much more exciting and exceptional. So how damn good is 33 big one's away from touring going to do for the man who when last touring the UK in 1976 was called Cat Stevens? Well lucky readers, it is your chance to find out as the same man, now known as Yusuf Islam has released information on a four stop tour, beginning 15th November.

After playing a one off gig at Shepherd's Bush Empire earlier in the year as part of Island Record's 50th Birthday celebrations Yusuf Islam must have had his appetite for live giggery re-ignited and now the appetite will be quenched with his very aptly named 'Guess I'll Take My Time' tour. Starting in Dublin's O2 Arena on the 15th November the tour travels to Birmingham's NIA (23rd November) , followed by the Liverpool Echo Arena (5th December) and finishes-off at London's Royal Albert Hall on the 8th December. To make it even more of a landmark occasion the folk legend will be performing material from his first musical, 'Moonshadow', as well as songs from his new album alongside classics from his back catalogue.

It may be overused a but this truly is a chance of a lifetime for fans of the Catman, for who knows when the man will decide to next go on tour. Going by current standards it should be around 2042.

Tickets go on sale Monday 21st September at 9AM, starting at £50 for the Birmingham and Liverpool dates, £70 for the Royal Albert Hall dates (well, £50 if you include the Gallery price) and €76.20 for the Dublin O2 date.
