Kind of Blue at 50 @ The Tower Festival 2009 - Commemorative Packages Available

'Kind of Blue at 50' commemorates fifty years of the landmark Miles Davis hard bop album 'Kind of Blue', released in August 1959.

The event takes place at the Tower of London on 17th September, as part of the 2009 Tower Festival, and will feature jazz drumming legend Jimmy Cobb's So What Band, consisting of Wallace Roney, Vincent Herring, Javon Jackson, Larry Willis, Buster Williams and of course Jimmy Cobb. Cobb was the drummer on 'So What' as well as many other Miles Davis releases.

Also playing on the day as a special guest is renowned British saxophonist Courtney Pine.

Tickets cost £27.50 - £40.00 + booking fee, or you can get your hands on "Commemorative Tickets" (see button, below) for £40 (sold in pairs), which includes:

  • 1 x CD - Kind Of Blue Legacy Edition - 2 CD / DVD set (RRP approx £25.00)
  • 2 x concert tickets to Kind Of Blue at 50 at the Tower Festival (RRP £80)

For the commemorative package, the book and CD must be collected at the merchandise stand on the day, where the author of 'The Blue Moment' Richard Williams will be available for book signings.
