RZA for 'Tao of Wu' October 2009 UK tour

Posted: 14 years ago

Hip Hop legend Robert Fitzgerald Diggs, otherwise known as The RZA, is a Grammy-winning rapper, producer and writer. RZA was the dominant figure in the globally-recognised urban music group the Wu-Tang Clan, having produced the majority of their albums and projects. After a successful career with the group, RZA could concentrate on his solo career. In 2007 he announced that he was releasing his fourth album, Digi Snacks, under his Bobby Digital persona. Immediately after its release in March 2008, RZA announced his next and final solo album, 'The Cure', due to him wanting to pursue his movie directing career. Robert is a talented musician, giving his Hip Hop productions a lot of unique factors, steering away from the static method most producers use, stating that he uses the sampler "more like a painter's palette than a Xerox".

The RZA is set to perform four dates within the UK this year, along with a date in Dublin. The first show at Matter in London's O2, is unique as he is performing with Raekwon, a rapper from the Wu-Tang Clan and DJ Semtex, a Manchester based DJ from BBC1 Xtra.

Tickets cost £17.50 for the Saturday 3rd October date at Matter, £23 for the Duchess in York on 5th October, €24.50 for the 8th October at The Button Factory in Dublin, £18 on the 9th October in the Bristol O2 Academy and £20 on the 10th October in the Oxford O2 Academy. Tickets are on sale now for all but the Oxford date, which goes on sale this Friday (4th September) at 9AM.
