York born, Pop Rock quintet Elliot Minor are playing 6 dates around the country this November, including gigs in London, Manchester and Newcastle.

The band, formally known as The Academy released their self-titled debut album in 2008, which was an immediate success reaching #6 in the UK albums chart. Elliot Minor may be relatively new to the scene, but they have certainly had their fair share of experience after playing some massive gigs last year, including the Download festival, Reading and Leeds festival and T in the Park.

All the members are classically trained music students. This is clearly heard in their music, as much of their work has beautiful vocal harmonies and complex choral and string arrangements. Although their songs have many classical elements, they predominantly play rock, influenced by bands such as Green Day, The Used, Muse, Queen and The Beach Boys.
