The Future Sound of O2 - Noel Gallagher and Amorphous for Monstrous September 2009 Gig

Oasis fans might want to seek some small solace after the band cancelled their V Festival appearance due to Liam's tonsils giving up on him, by checking out this special gig lined-up with Amorphous Androgynous. It takes place on Thursday 17th September and forms part of the (deep breath) 'Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble Exploding In Your Mind' night that also features rock-psychedelia fire-brands Hawkwind, wistful singer-songwriter Nick Nicely and progressive folkadelia legends Comus (who recently re-formed and played together for the first time in 30-odd years).

Noel Gallagher will take to the stage prior to AA (the line up of which seems to total up to a dozen musicians at any given gig) and perform an array of songs, possibly with principle members, Garry Cobain and Brian Dougans who also make swooshy electronica under the guise of Future Sound Of London. The whole night is to celebrate the launch of the 'Monstrous......' double CD compilation that AA have compiled and mixed, featuring some of the most important names in psychedelic and folk music such as Tim Buckley, Hawkwind, Nick Nicely, Osibisa, Pentangle, Can and David Axelrod. It is no secret that Gallagher is a true fan of the mid to late 60's music scene and has employed the talents of AA before on the Oasis 12" version of "Falling Down" earlier this year.

Tickets cost £25 + booking for the gig at Matter (The O2).

Update

The date has now been changed to Friday 30th October 2009 - and it looks likely that Noel Gallagher will no longer be performing :-(

The new line-up features: Hawkwind, Amorphous Androgynous, Comus, The Yellow Moon Band, Nick Nicely's Unlived Lives, Cranium Pie, DJs, Andy Votel, Gaz Cobain and Sitar Freakout.
