Jason Mraz releases his infectious new single 'Lucky', September 7th on Atlantic Records - an endearing duet with platinum singer-songwriter Colbie Caillat and the third single from his Top Ten album 'We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things'.
Written by Jason Mraz, Colbie Caillat and Colbie's guitarist Timothy Fagan with production from Martin Terefe (Coldplay, James Morrison) 'Lucky' is a bubbly, uplifting, summer slice of pop collaboration at its best.
One of many highlights on the album, Jason hooked up with Colbie after he got word that she was a big fan. "I got word that she was a fan and might consider working together, so I immediately demanded her phone number," Mraz says with a laugh. He then sent her the segments of a love song that Colbie and her guitarist Timothy Fagan completed.
'Lucky' has sold over 1,000,000 copies in the US and the video is No.1 on VH1. The track also featured in the finale of MTV show 'The Hills' and the duo performed the song recently on Saturday Night Live.
It has been a triumphant 2009 for Jason so far, his breakthrough album 'We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things' has sold more than 2.5 million copies worldwide, earning him three Grammy nominations, including Song of the Year and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for 'I'm Yours'. Jason Mraz, who performed a hat trick of shows at this year's Glastonbury, is currently on an extensive tour of the US.
