Noah and the Whale announce August 2009 single/ album and Autumn UK tour

The Papas Fritas-soundalike Twickenham-based quartet, Noah and The Whale are to release a new single, 'Blue Skies', on August 24th, followed with their new album (a follow-up to their chart-topping 2008 debut, 'Peaceful, The World Lay Me Down'), entitled 'The First Days of Spring' on August 31st. 'The First Days of Spring' is also the soundtrack of the eponymous film, penned by NATW frontman Charlie Fink, starring model/actress Daisy Lowe (daughter of you know who), which will premiere at the Big Chill Festival on August 9th,with follow-up screenings at the Manchester Cornerhouse, Glasgow Film Theatre, Sheffield Showroom and the London ICA the first week of September.

The boys will then embark on a tour that will see them strut their indie-folk in the cities of Belfast (Sept.23rd), Dublin (Sept.24th), Gateshead (Sept.27th),Leeds (Sept.28th),Manchester (Sept.29th),Oxford (Oct.1st), London (Oct.2nd), Norwich (Oct.4th), Cambridge (Oct.5th), Brighton (Oct.7th), Derby (Oct.8th), Exeter (Oct.10th), Bath (Oct.11th ), Falmouth (Oct.12th ), Sheffield (Oct.14th) and Glasgow (Oct.15th ).
