Oi! It'sPunk! New punk night at the Trinity Centre in Bristol for 25th July 2009

Posted: 14 years ago

The Trinity Centre is launching its new programme of in-house music events to promote up-and-coming music talent to the city of Bristol who are from Bristol and the Southwest, with some interesting appearances from the odd away band. We?re going to reiterate the fact that Bristol recognises musical talent in the UK ? starting with Oi!

It's Punk! The first big music gig of three, Saturday 25th July 2009 - celebrating the sound and influence of Punk.

The line-up is an eclectic mix of Punk bands from the South West and what better band to headline than The Bolsheviks - hailing from the back streets of Bristol, they mix Punk, Psychobilly, Garage & Metal to form a unique sound of their own class, one of the UK?s best underground acts. They?ll be supported by Slagerij, The Denial Factor, Severe:Zero and Las Kellies.

The Trinity Centre has long played host to major musical events for three decades - providing strong music and cutting-edge shows ? from local legends Massive Attack to international artists such as Public Enemy. And as many of Britain's key music venues are being swallowed up by large organisations and sponsors, the Trinity Centre remains one of the last independent music venues in the South West possibly the UK.

However, the night is as much about showcasing cracking new music as it is a night to entertain the crowd and you won?t be falling asleep in your pint of Stowford when you?re surrounded by a camden'esque type market, compere extraordinaire, entertainers, VT and Punk memorabilia plastered everywhere. We?ve got United Against Facism promoting their Love Music campaign. From the minute you enter to the minute you leave its PUNK!
