Another instalment of London's annual summer party is due at the East End's Victoria Park this weekend, July 18-19. The Lovebox Weekender, which has been deemed as 'one of the most authentic festivals of the summer' by The Guardian newspaper, returns for yet another year.

In its seventh festival, the Lovebox ideal was born on the cusp of the millennium when Tom and Andy of Groove Armada decided that they liked the idea of creating a great outdoor party with 'something extra'. The festival continues to surprise even regular attendees year upon year with its line-up and activities whilst still staying true to form.

Last year's festival saw 45,000 eager Loveboxers watch 174 acts across 4 stages. Unfortunately Lovebox 2009 will be the last time that Groove Armada will perform at the very party they created as they pursue new adventures and the release of their latest album 'Black Light' in October.

2009's broad line-up will include acts such as headlining 80s heros Duran Duran, Groove Armada, Gang of Four, Friendly Fires, Dananananaykroyd, Ladyhawke, Fat Freddy's Drop, NERD and New York Dolls. As was announced on Friday, producer sensation/fan Mark Ronson is set to play an exclusive UK show by joining Duran Duran on Saturday's stage; he is currently working on the band's new album.

The Lovebox Weekender 2009 promises to rock London this July!

Tickets are available now at £42.50 per day ticket, and £75.00 (both + booking fee) per weekend ticket.
