Mark Knopfler has this week announced a six date Royal Albert Hall residency for May/ June 2010.

The Dire Straits guitar legend last performed at the Royal Albert Hall just last month - also a six date residency - a feat which will be repeated next summer, starting on Sunday 30th May, continuing every day for six days until Friday 4th June 2010.

Later this year he is to release sixth studio album 'Get Lucky', featuring Dire Straits cohort Guy Fletcher on keyboards. The self-produced album is slated for September 2009 release date.

Tickets for the Royal Albert Hall dates go on sale on Friday 3rd July at 9AM, starting at £30 + booking fee.
