Those crazy Supergrass members Gaz Coombes and Danny Goffey are at it again. Yes, not happy enough with already producing some curious but fun music under the pseudonyms Duke Diamond (Gaz) & Randy Hoo Ha (Danny) they have decided to do it all over again under the new moniker The Hot Rats. Not only that but it is all being produced by Nigel Godrich, he who made the beautiful 'OK Computer' by Radiohead as well as my shout for album of the decade, Beck's 'Sea Changes'. Exciting then eh?
The album is going to be a covers album consisting of their rehashing of songs from Sex Pistols, The Kinks, Roxy Music and others too amazing to mention here. As well as that the lovely lads are playing the big Summer festivals of Leeds, Reading & Glastonbury as well as low key gigs over the next few days in Southampton, Hartford & Essex for under a tenner. If you are as excited as I am about this wacky but possibly ingenious reinvention from the Supergrass guys look below for ticket information. This could well be the best thing this year. Unless sliced bread manages to do that long overdue reinvention.
