Back for 2009 is Rock with Laughter, which was last year compered by Brummy comedian Jasper Carrot.

Taking place this year in the LG Arena at the NEC, the 2009 event takes place over two days, compered by Lenny Henry, and featuring a cracking line-up of comedians and musicians, including: The Sugababes, Alan Carr, Lee Mack, The Blockheads featuring Phill Jupitus, Dara O'Briain, Shappi Khorsandi, Bjorn Again and The Village People!

Lenny was one of the performers at the 2008 events, and has this to say about his about his appointment at the helm:

Yes! It's true, the legendary Jasper Carrott has handed over the reins of Rock With Laughter to me, Lenny Henry. Jasper's done a brilliant job of rocking the audience during his tenure and now that task falls to me and I'm really beside myself with joy (look, there I am standing beside myself with Joy - she's lovely).
We've got our best line up ever this year. Prepare to dance, sing and laugh your socks off (please wear socks for this purpose).
