Canadian pop-rockers Metric will begin their UK-wide tour tonight in Manchester.

Foxy frontwoman Emily Haines and pals' tour will coincide with the release of their new single 'Sick Muse' from the latest album 'Fantasies', due on May 18th. Fourth studio album 'Fantasies' was released on April 20th, after Metric shyed away from the limelight for a few years bar the odd gig, their last album 'Live It Out' being released in 2005.

The short tour kicks off tonight (May 11th) at Manchester's Academy 3, and will see through a total of 7 dates, finishing up at London's Electric Ballroom in Camden on May 19th. Metric will then continue on with a US tour in early June.

The Manchester and London dates are already sold out - Metric come highly recommended live - but tickets are available for shows in Glasgow, Coventry, Brighton, Bristol, and Oxford.
