Pete Doherty to play May 2009 Jonny Rhythm Sedassy memorial gig

No rest for the wicked as, after a successful and intensive European tour, promoting his acclaimed debut album, 'Grace/Wasteland', released last March, Peter Doherty has been confirmed to play Rhythm Factory in Whitechapel, a landmark venue for him and The Libertines, as that is where the perform some of their very first gigs, on May 15th.Alongside The Paddingtons, Red Roots, Melody Nelson, Doherty will perform a remembrance gig, in memory of legendary London promoter Jonny 'Rhythm' Sedassy, who succumbed to bowel cancer on March 16th (coincidentally Doherty's album release date), after his final stay at Sir Michael Sobell Hospice.

The event, which will run from 8pm to 4m, aims to raise awareness of the Michael Sobell Charity www.sobellhospicecharity.org.uk - (founded in 1976 "to care for people suffering with a life threatening illness, and for their families...") as well as raise funds for the hospice, with all proceeds from ticket sales going to the organisation. The live performances will be followed by a by top secret celebrity DJ duo 'Team Disgusting', whose identities will remain top secret until the doors open on the night.

Tickets are available now and cost £25.00 if purchased online or £30.00 each on the door.
