International Women's Day may have been last month, but everyday should be so, as Actionaid demonstrates by endlessly working towards the empowerment and support of women and girls around the world, and campaigning against any discrimination and violence suffered by them.

Next week, Actionaid will continue its battle to the sound of music, assisted by a starry all-female line-up of musicians and DJs, including double Ivor Novello winner (and newly appointed Epic Records' CEO) Amanda Ghost, Martina Topley Bird, Micachu & The Shapes, thecocknbullkid, Alessi's Ark, Queens of Noize, The Voguettes, Princess Superstar and Zezi Ifore.

The event will run from 7.30pm to 1am on Wednesday 29 April, and be hosted by queen-journo, Miranda Sawyer.

It's all happening at the ICA and will be the opportunity to witness feminists and womanizers unite for the good cause.

Tickets cost a tenner each, with all proceeds going to Actionaid (www.actionaid.org.uk/6degrees/) - on sale now.
