With the ridiculous number of thirty-somethings calling themselves 'indie kids' nowadays (and I know a thing or two about that), the real kids must be rolling their eyes in despair! Well, their "me time" requirements should be catered to this summer as the third instalment of the teen-only music fest, The Underage Festival, restricted to 14-to-18-year-olds only (proof of ID required, with no parents or guardians allowed), will take place in Victoria Park, London, on Sunday August 2nd. 'Teen' Music will be delivered by slightly older bands, including The Pigeon Detectives, Mystery Jets, last year's newcomer of choice Santogold, Patrick Wolf, BBC Sound of 2009 favourites Esser and Little Boots, grimer deluxe JME, indietronica veterans Metronomy, Video Nasties and Ladyhawke, among many others. Performances, staged across four stages, will run from 11am until 8pm.
Day tickets cost £26.50 + booking fee, on sale now.
More imminently, the similarly-purposed Red Bull Bedroom Jam X-Crawl festival (http://www.redbullbedroomjam.com/) is taking place this coming Saturday April 25th, in Camden, so 1, 2, 3, go!
