Camden's Roundhouse is being transformed into a one-off real life global mixtape. With music across two stages, from Hip Hop to Salsa via Indie and Reggae, this May Day Bank Holiday is going to be a musical melting pot of different flavas. With unique outdoors entertainment from circus performers FunDo, an eclectic art exhibition and even a big ol' barbeque on the terrace this is going to be the biggest party of the weekend.

Mongrel

Featuring: Jon McClure (Reverend and The Makers), Lowkey (UK Hip Hop Artist), Andy Nicholson (Ex Arctic Monkeys Bassist), Matt Helders (Arctic Monkeys Drummer), Drew McConnell (Babyshambles), Joe Moskow (Reverend and The Makers) and producer/remixer Jagz Kooner.

Bringing together people from many musical styles, Mongrel merges the UK indie music scene with a hip-hop community ignored by the wider media. Tackling themes shied away from by mainstream musicians, Mongrel was mixed and dubbed by Adrian Sherwood of ON-U-SOUND. Made in London at a time when the BNP were on the increase and a man who calls Black People "picaninnies" was coming to power, Mongrel is a celebration of everything that is good about Britain at the same time as pointing out its flaws.

Alex Wilson's Salsa Con Soul Orchestra

Somewhere between London and Havana, volcanic activity has triggered the emergence of a new tropical island - Salsa con Soul. This is the eruption fans of Alex Wilson - the UK top salsa/Latin jazz piano man and bandleader - have been waiting for. His sixth album, Salsa con Soul was the ultimate crossover dance music album of 2008.

Swami

Swami is a critically acclaimed alternative Asian band hailing from the UK who fuse traditional Asian and Western electronic beats creating the sound of the new British Asian generation. They have received continued support from Bobby Friction & Nihal of BBC Radio 1 and BBC Asian Network and 2009 is set to be a big year for the band.

Tippa Irie

Anthony Henry - a.k.a. "Tippa Irie" - emerged from England's Saxon Sound International - the star-studded sound system that has been at the forefront of the U.K. reggae dancehall scene for the past 25 years and helped launch the careers of artists such as Maxi Priest, Papa Levi and Smiley Culture. To this day, Tippa Irie remains one of the most requested Reggae entertainers internationally.

Nathan 'Flutebox' Lee

With his trademark live FLUTEBOXING [beatboxing and playing the flute at the same time] Nathan 'Flutebox' Lee's explosive blend unites Hip Hop, Drum 'n' bass and Ragga beats with Indian classical, Jazz and Funk melodies.

He has collaborated live and in the studio with, among others, NITIN SAWHNEY, THE PRODIGY, BEARDYMAN, PLAN B, ASIAN DUB FOUNDATION, FOREIGN BEGGARS, MATTAFIX, and ED RUSH & OPTICAL.

This 5-piece band formed in early 2008 crosses barriers to bring a unique blend of sounds to the scene. Mixing hip-hop with rock and reggae with punk and a live vibe that has to be seen to be believed.

Halagoogoo

Halagoogoo are a three piece that play a concoction of dirty bluesy funky rock n' roll with tons of energy. Halagoogoo have supported; INXS, Scouting for Girls, Friendly Fires, Focus, The Beat, Geno Washington etc. Also not forgetting a comprehensive tour in 2007, that included festival dates at Glastonbury and the Isle of Wight Festival.

SIZE NINE are an 8-piece band playing a mixture of deep-fried, Funk, Soul, Latin, Ska and Boogaloo. Fronted by South London's songstress Breezy known for her gritty lyrics and original melodies, Size Nine perform an energetic stage spectacular, for music lovers everywhere. Something Simple

Something Simple are an 8-piece musical explosion, every member born and bred in and around London, and between them boasting an impressive mix of musical blood from all over the world. The band compose and play their own hybrid funk brew - based firmly in all styles of dance music from the 60s to the present day - funk, reggae, hip-hop, d'n'b and more, always played live, and always infused with strong melodies and satisfying and interesting harmonic ideas.

The FunDo Company presents 'Round The Clock' a specially commissioned contemporary circus cabaret act, exclusively for 'No Passport Necessary'.

"Meet Doret, a young girl, a by-product of the immigration generation. London has not turned out to be what she imagined and she wants to leave! Doret makes her way to the train station to find her train has just left, leaving her to wait for the next one. The station then begins to come to life. It knows what she is feeling. She then encounters a series of events which begin to influence, and mould her thoughts, the next train arrives, she stands up and......."

Co-Motion: A Collective Art Exhibition

Co-Motion is a specially curated exhibition of twelve completely different and unrelated artists, with the theme of 'London's Global Mixtape!' bringing them together. The name comes from the commotion we often find in London; a conglomeration, a community, collaboration, a constant mash-up of individuals telling their own stories, whilst walking the same streets, taking the same journeys.

Expect architecture, stereotypes, politics and children - the future of all our cities, Co-Motion is a positive and thought provoking collection consisting of original commissions as well as established pieces.

Running from Weds 29th April to Weds 6th May, the show will peak on 4th May 2009 during 'No Passport Necessary' as one day installations, video pieces and performance fill the venue along with the great line-up of bands!
