Britpop veterans Blur announced yesterday the support for their Hyde Park comeback gigs this July. Originally set for only one date where 10,000 tickets sold in two minutes, another date had to be added due to demand.
A variety of acts are to support the quartet at their two shows on 2nd and 3rd July, differing on each night, in a bid to create a more tailored reformation show.
July 2nd will see Foals, Crystal Castles, Friendly Fires and Hypnotic Brass Ensemble as support, whereas July 3rd will feature Vampire Weekend, Amadou & Mariam, Florence And The Machine and Deerhoof.
The foursome, fronted by Damon Albarn, has been away working on numerous solo projects since an informal break-up in 2004. Blur are also to play at T In The Park and Glastonbury later this year.
Tickets are still available at face value for July 2nd, at £45.
