Extra Download 2009 Acts Confirmed For June Festival!

Posted: 26th March 2009

As if the return of Faith No More could not be a more persuasive twisting of the arm, here come more confirmed big names and metal luminaries due to appear at the Download Festival. Remember this runs from June 12th to 14th at Donington Park.

The latest definite signatures on the festival contract are Opeth (Swedish rock-goth act), You Me At Six, Black Stone Cherry (with two very highly-acclaimed albums in tow), Meshuggah (experimental Swedish rockers), Five Finger Death Punch (Los Angeles who have toured with Korn amongst others) and Japanese alt-metallers, Dir En Grey. But the real coup for festival goers will be the return of the awesomely named Lawnmower Deth from Norway who have a claim to (according to their My Space page) sound like "the sound of being shot with a machine gun" and boast beautifully crafted song titles such as "Pukelube" and "Orphanage Chainsaw Rape". Grindcore but thrown into a wood chipper - a bit like THAT scene in Fargo.....

Other recent additions also include Lacuna Coil, Tesla, Papa Roach and Duff McKaglan's Loaded. It's gonna be a noisy one!
