Download 2009 - re-Loaded with addition of Duff McKlagan's boys

Posted: 25th March 2009

Guns N Roses bassist Duff McKagan (also of Velvet Revolver) has been added to the line-up of this year's Download festival. The bassist/ guitarist's band 'Loaded' will play the event in Donington between June 12-14th. Meshuggah, Opeth, Five Finger Death Punch, Dir En Grey, and You me at six have also joined the ranks of artists attending the event, that last year was host to acts such as Judas Priest, Motorhead, HIM and Bullet For My Valentine.

Duff is a Download veteran having played the festival once with Guns N Roses and twice with Velvet Revolver. Loaded - a hard rock 'supergroup' that recently reformed in 2008 with the addition of new band members - will be taking to the stage at the Leicestershire festival this summer. The band are due to release their second album 'Sick' this April.

Other bands that have been previously added to the bill for 2009 include Faith No More, Slipknot, Def Leppard, Korn and Marilyn Manson, making for a star-studded weekend.

Tickets for Download, at Castle Donington, are still available at £160 for a weekend ticket with camping, or £135 for weekend festival entry only.
