Well here comes another major festival for the Summer months and what a snorter! Grace Jones headlines the weekend which runs from 16th to 19th July at Henham Park near Southwold, with the ever-so-much-in-favour Pet Shop Boys (see this site for a review of their latest album out 23rd March) and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds who are always welcome on these shores no matter where they play.
Grace set a new standard when she appeared at the successful Meltdown Festival in 2008 with her hump n grind antics and thong-wearing extravaganza that shames most lethargic people quite frankly - hell the woman has style, panache, balls (well almost) and a cracking batch of songs, some of which will no doubt be aired from her recently acclaimed must-purchase album, "Hurricane".
Pet Shop Boys just can't help saying "Yes" these days - the title of their new album shows a return to bouncy and positive (well, for the most part) songs and certainly goes on record (cough) as being their finest since "Very" although the pair have released several good albums since then. This site gave their 2006 album "Fundamental" a bit of a shoe-ing, truth be told, but it has stood up as a decent set but the new batch of songs are very much PSB on a roll. Catch them at Latitude and see if I'm wrong!
Nick Cave is a legend full stop and along with plenty of other names due to be announced this is sure to be a festival worth attending.
Weekend tickets are £150, day tickets are £60.....
