Judi Dench to miss one week of Madame de Sade after fall

Posted: 15 years ago

Dame Judi Dench will miss this week's performances in Yukio Mishima's Madame de Sade, which opened on at Wyndham's Theatre in the West End on Friday 13th March.

The multi award-winning actress fell at the stage door on Friday, spraining her ankle and has been forced to rest. This week, understudy Marjorie Hayward will sit-in for the role of Madame de Montreuil, with Judi expected to make a return next week.

The play is directed by Michael Grandage, and features Frances Barber, Rosamund Pike, Fiona Button, Deborah Findlay and Jenny Galloway. It runs until Saturday 23rd May.

Tickets have proved very popular, with many of the early dates selling-out weeks before the premiere, but there are still some available.
