The Stone Roses set for reunion?

Posted: 15 years ago
Ian Brown

Today's Daily Mirror has an article stating that Ian Brown and co have signed-up to a twenty one date Stone Roses reunion this year, marking the 20th anniversary of their debut eponymous album released around this time in 1989. The reunion would allegedly see all five original band members (who up until recently have not been on speaking terms) reunited. As well as UK dates, the Daily Mirror article states the band will also play this year's Coachella - next month.

The official Stone Roses website (www.thestoneroses.co.uk) seems to throw the reunion into doubt though, stating Ian Brown's recording commitments and John Squire's forthcoming summer art exhibition.

I guess it's a matter of "watch this space". One thing's for sure: with the current appetite for reunions, and with the Roses star burning so bright but briefly, demand would be very high.

Update: 18th March

Both Ian Brown and John Squire have now denied the reunion plans.
