Glade Festival 2009 Brings a Breath of Fresh Air to Winchester - Line Up Announced

Posted: 15 years ago

One of the most revered electronica and dance festivals in the UK returns for it's 6th outing but with a new venue - it's a secret location thus far but watch this space for details. What can be confirmed are the dates, ticket prices and the headliners.

Gates open on Thursday 16th July (Midday) and tickets cost £125 for the entire weekend. There will be no day tickets. Headlining acts confirmed are Underworld, one of Britains longest-surviving and resilient dance acts with an impressive live reputation (see previous review for their Brixton gig last year for proof), Squarepusher, Booka Shade, Freeland and Dub Pistols announced so far for the main Glade stage. Other acts are to be announced plus there are several other stages and mini-festivals such as Carmageddon (featuring auto-sculpture urban terrorists Mutoid Waste Company and full on noisy ravers) and Avalon (a more chilled psychedelic experience reflecting the free love free music and free freedoms of the 60's world scene maaan).

The venue will be near Winchester but the exact coordinates will be revealed very soon. Wherever it is, rest assured that Hampshire is a beautiful county and a perfect setting for full-on clubbing al fresco-style.
