As expected, Michael Jackson has today - belatedly - announced a series of concerts at London's O2, after much speculation started last year. Michael made his announcement today at the O2 Arena in front of thousands of fans at five thirty PM, but kept the audience waiting long after the 4PM slated time, then managed to grab a few minutes before being announced as the "king of pop".

Billed as the "last chance" for Jacko fans to catch the King of pop live, the dates will start in July, but no indication yet of how many dates or when they will start, or - how much hard-earned cash will need to be shelled-out for the priviledge.

These will be my final show performances in London... this is it, I really mean it...it's the final curtain call... I'll be performing the songs my fans want to hear... I'll see you in July... I love you

{Gesture, strike a pose, exit curtain rear...}

Note to self: do not invite Mr Jackson as after-dinner speaker.

Update: it'll be ten shows
