The Download Festival organizers have confirmed further bands for this years extravaganza in June (12th - 14th). Forgotten Canadian fearsome foursome Anvil - the subject of the film documentary, "The Story Of Anvil", will rock up during the weekend and will no doubt have increased their fan-base on the strength of the plaintive story they tell in the film. Expect a rapturous reception - they may not have converted the millions but they will charm the thousands and thousands during the weekend.
Sticking with the land of the maple leaf, young upstarts Billy Talent will also do their brain-crunching thing along with Grammy-nominees Buckcherry from LA. To ensure the UK continues to be represented at maximum volume, The Blackout from South Wales are also confirmed to play after major dates at the Give It A Name nights in London and Manchester in April and the Vans Warped Tour in the States in July.
And how about this for a bonus? As well as the landmark headliners such as Faith No More, Def Leppard, ZZ Top, Whitesnake and Motley Crue all powered-up and ready to go, Dream Theater return after their initial appearance in 2007. 8 million of their record / CD buyers can't be wrong - Roadrunner will release their 10th album which the band are working on this year. Expect more names to be announced!
