Kaki King

American guitarist Kaki King will be over in the Jazz Café this April as part of her Australia/ European tour.

The guitar supreme was named as a "Guitar God" by Rolling Stone magazine in 2006 - the first female to ever make their list, and Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl had this to say about her at last year's gig at the O2:

There are guitarists who are good and some guitar players who are f**king good. And then there's Kaki King

She will be performing material from her forthcoming 'Mexican Teenagers' EP as well as last year's "Dreaming Of Revenge", joined on stage by drummer Matt Hankle and long-time musical partner Dan Brantigan, playing analogue "EVI", or "Electric Valve Instrument".

Not one to sit still, she has been collaborating with The Mountain Goats' John Darnielle as well as working with uber-producer Timbaland for her forthcoming as-yet-untitled release.

Tickets for last year's ICA and Roundhouse dates sold-out, and the same is sure to happen at the intimate Jazz Café, so get in while the going's good!
