One of the most enduring and successful West-End musicals, Oliver!, has had it's run extended at the Drury Lane Theatre, London for another year. The new dates are September 2009 to February 2010 with the line-up for this performance to be confirmed. For the moment though, Rowan Atkinson continues to play Fagin and gain accolades from audiences and critics alike.
However, apart from Captain Slackbladder in the mix, the musical stands up on its own legs with some of the most fantastic songs ever committed to a lyric sheet - I'd Do Anything, Where Is Love?, Food Glorious Food, Pick A Pocket Or Two and many more. Consider yourselves (sorry) lucky to have this extended yet again. Tickets available now.
Rowan Atkinson will continue his run as Fagin until 18th July, then award-winning Iranian stand-up comedian/ actor Omid Djalili (yet again the baddie!) takes over the mantle from 20th July onwards. Jodie Prenger, the winner of the 2008 TV show 'I'd Do Anything' continues in her role as Nancy.
